Hyundai’s successful compact SUV, the Hyundai Venue is set to receive a facelift in 2022, three years after its launch in 2019. The test mule of the Hyundai Venue has been spotted testing in Chennai near the Hyundai production plant. While details of the new compact SUV are still to be revealed, there are some details that can be spotted from the test mule, here is what you can expect from the new 2022 Hyundai Venue.
Hyundai Venue facelift changes
Based on the test mule the Hyundai Venue is expected to feature redesigned alloy wheels as well as a reprofiled tail lamp cluster. The overall shape of the Hyundai Venue will be similar to the existing model. However major change will be seen on the exterior as Hyundai is expected to introduce the parametric grille to the Venue as well. This will bring the Hyundai Venue in line with the expected facelift of the Hyundai Creta and the launch of the Hyundai Tucson, which will come later this year.
Additionally the Hyundai Venue will also receive a new interior which will feature a redesigned dashboard. It is expected that the digital MID display from the i20 could make its way to the new Venue. The larger 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system could also be offered as an option on the Hyundai Venue.
Hyundai Venue facelift engines & transmissions
One thing that will not change on the new Hyundai Venue will be the range of powertrains offered. The new 2020 Hyundai Venue will continue to offer a 1-litre turbo petrol engine, a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.
These engine options will be paired with similar transmission options offered on the current Hyundai Venue. The manual transmissions on offer will include a 5-speed manual for the base petrol variant and a 6-speed manual for the turbo petrol and diesel variants. The automatic transmissions will include a 6-speed torque converter automatic for the diesel variant, an iMT and DCT automatic for the turbo petrol variants.
Hyundai Venue expected launch date
The launch of the Hyundai Venue is expected in the coming months. With a packed schedule to release new SUVs in 2022, the Korean car maker will be keen to launch the Venue in the summer and give enough limelight to the new Creta facelift and Tucson.
