- Comes in four variants E, S, G and V
- New front grille, overall fascia design differentiates it from the Baleno
- Toyota’s first AMT offering
Toyota India launched its 2022 facelifted Toyota Glanza premium hatchback at Rs 6.39 lakh ex-showroom. The premium hatchback, essentially a rebadged Baleno, comes in four different trim levels: E, S, G, and V.
The Glanza has a new facelifted exterior that makes it look wider and leaner. The front fascia is nothing like the Baleno and looks more like the luxurious Camry. There are chrome accents on the fog lamp housing in the front bumper, the headlamps are sleeker and include L-shaped DRLs that give the new hatchback a distinct look.
The Toyota Glanza receives significant improvements on the interiors that include a dual-toned cabin, larger and more comfortable seats, head-up display (HUD), 360-degree camera, New climate control switches, Toyota i-Connect, a new 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and ‘Hey Toyota’ voice commands.
On the safety side, similar to the Baleno, the Glanza offers up to 6 airbags, cruise control, 360-degree reverse camera and an improved body structure.
In addition to the G and top-spec V trim levels, the new Glanza features new entry-level E and S variations.
The new Glanza will use the same 1.2-litre petrol engine as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. This motor has a power output of 90 BHP and a torque output of 113 Nm. A five-speed manual gearbox and a five-speed AMT automatic transmission will be available as options. The AMT transmission will be a first for Toyota.
The Toyota Glanza will compete against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Tata Altroz, and the Hyundai i20.
