Hyundai has launched the facelifted Hyundai Aura at Rs 6.29 – 8.87 lakh (ex-showroom). The Korean compact sedan is the successor to the iconic Hyundai Xcent and has remained a steady seller ever since its launch in 2020. However, this first facelift of the Hyundai Aura is expected to give its sales a much-needed boost. Here is everything you need to know about the new Hyundai Aura.

  • Aggressive design with more tech inside
  • Features 4 airbags as standard
  • Continues with the 1.2-litre petrol engine and optional factory-fitted CNG kit

2023 Hyundai Aura facelift: Exterior

Dimensionally, the new Hyundai Aura matches the size of the outgoing model and is 3,995 mm long, 1,680 mm wide, 1,520 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. However, there are some changes at the front end. The all-new front fascia of the new Aura sports a more upright nose and divided grille with an aggressive net-like pattern. The upper part of the grille is a slim strip connecting boomerang-shaped headlamps and has the Hyundai badging in centre. The larger lower part is trapezoidal and is flanked by new inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. Nonetheless, the new Hyundai Aura misses the fog lamps which were available in the outgoing model. The side profile has been carried over and features the same 15-inch alloy wheels, cleanly-designed doors, and blacked-out B and C pillars. Same as the side profile, the rear end remains unchanged and sports sleek split-LED tail lamps linked via a chromed strip with chromed AURA lettering above. The facelifted Hyundai Aura also sports the boot-lid spoiler in all variants except the base model.

2023 Hyundai Aura facelift: Interior and Features

Hyundai Aura interior

On the inside, the cabin layout largely remains the same, except for the new upholstery, ambient lighting for the footwell space, and a revised instrument cluster. In terms of features, the new Hyundai Aura retains the 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, adjustable rear headrests, and a wireless charger. However, higher variants of the Hyundai Aura now sport some new features such as Type-C charging ports and a revised 3.5-inch MID in the instrument cluster. On the safety front, the new Hyundai Aura sports four airbags, ABS and EBD as standard while the higher variants sport up to six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX anchorages, traction control, TPMS, hill-hold assist, and automatic headlamps.

2023 Hyundai Aura facelift: Engine and Transmission

There aren’t any changes under the hood, as the Hyundai Aura facelift continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre engine coupled with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. This petrol engine produces 83 hp of power and 114 Nm of peak torque. Moreover, like before, Hyundai is also offering a factory-fitted CNG kit with a 1.2-litre petrol engine. With the CNG kit, the engine generates 69 hp of power and 95 Nm of peak torque and is only paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
