When it comes time to sell our first car, there is a wave of nostalgia as we reminisce about the bond we’ve formed over the years. For India’s premier badminton player and two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu and her family, there were many memories attached with her first car. This is the story of how Sindhu’s brother-in-law sold her first Mahindra XUV500 with ease.
A Celebration of Firsts
Every athlete dreams and trains to represent India at the highest levels of athletic sports. This is no different for badminton star PV Sindhu, who is enjoying an illustrious career, having secured 349 wins and ranking as high as 2nd in the world badminton rankings. In addition to securing several Badminton World Championships, she is also an Olympic medallist, having recently secured a Bronze for India at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as well as securing Silver for India at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
When she won the Silver for India in 2016, she became the first Indian badminton player to reach the finals at the Olympic Games and secure a medal. “This is Sindhu’s first car after she won the medal at the Rio Olympics,” explains Sreeram Goalla, her brother-in-law, “so selling this car is not an easy decision for us.”
The Sindhu Family’s Pride
There is a feeling of nostalgic sentiment surrounding this car when Sreeram talks about the journey the car has been through with PV Sindhu. “One of the best memories we have with this car is from 2017 when she was going for the Japan Open,” remembers Sreeram, “This was a brand new car then and her tournament journey began in this car.” The new car served as a good luck charm for PV Sindhu, as she won her first match of the Japan Open in 2017.
“We have many memories in this car and always prefer going in it when we go out as a family”
The car has been a constant companion for the Sindhu family. “Whenever we go out as a family, we always prefer this vehicle,” remarks Sreeram, “Since this is a 7-seater car, we always prefer going in this to parties and especially when she is going for tournaments.” Even as the family plans to upgrade to a new car but their XUV500 will have a special place in their memories.
Selling Right with Spinny
Selling PV Sindhu’s first car wasn’t an easy decision but the family decided to upgrade from the XUV500. Sreeram and his father were expecting it to be a tough process to sell the car. They decided to go with Spinny and were pleasantly surprised by the smooth experience they had.
