The Ioniq 5 EV is expected to be available in Standard Range and Long Range versions, both with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive formats, with the extended-range model including a 72.6kWh battery pack, and the regular one churning 58kWh. It has a combined claimed range of 480 km. With these staggering specs, the low weight of the EV, and the instant torque of the electric motor, the EV can achieve a speed of 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds for the standard AWD version, and 5.2 seconds for the AWD long-range version.

The Ioniq 5’s main rival is the Kia EV6 which is built on the same E-GMP platform, intended to support a variety of electric vehicles from Hyundai and Kia.
