With summer car launches behind us, the automotive industry is now gearing up for the upcoming festive season. Interest in buying and owning a car is at an all-time high, and this is reflected in the car sales as well as the news cycle.
Our latest Spinny Post features July’s best-selling cars, a head-to-head comparison of the Jimny against its off-road rivals, and why Tata has become one of the most loved brands in India. Since many people are owning or looking to own an automatic car, we’ve also featured pro-tips for driving your automatic with care.
India’s Favourite Cars Revealed

The car sales figures for July have arrived, bringing a few surprises with it. The top 10 best-selling cars typically remain consistent, with new launches taking a few months to make an appearance on the list. There was a brief period where Tata and Hyundai snuck in two cars each into the top 10, thanks to their popular SUVs. However, Maruti’s recent focus on the SUV segment has reversed this trend, with eight out of the top ten best-sellers being Maruti cars. Interestingly, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has been a surprise hit, entering the top 10 in just two months after its launch. Check out how the top 10 ranked in the link below.
It’s Showdown Time for the Maruti Jimny

In our last Spinny Post, we highlighted the Maruti Jimny. Now, the small 4×4 SUV faces off against the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, two formidable (and larger) 4×4 SUVs that are revered among off-road enthusiasts for their individual qualities. Most would say that this is an unfair comparison, but all three SUVs occupy the same price range. If you have been seduced by the call of the wild, you definitely need to check out which 4×4 SUV is the one for you.
Why India Loves Tata Cars

Tata Motors is one of India’s oldest automotive brands. However, its image began to fade away as it expanded its portfolio beyond the utility vehicles that it was known for. The Indian brand has been on a resurgent trend, rebuilding its image and quickly becoming a favourite among Indian buyers. If you’ve wondered how Tata Motors went from being a brand to pass to a brand to own, check out the reasons why India loves Tata cars.
