The reputed Indian auto-giant, Mahindra & Mahindra is looking boldly to the future with their current strategy. This coming June, they intend to introduce the all-new Mahindra Scorpio, while the launch of Mahindra XUV300 is slated for early 2023. Here is what you can expect from the updated Indian SUVs.
All-new Mahindra Scorpio
The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be a massive upgrade from the current generation Scorpio which is the second-most selling Mahindra car in India. The second generation of Mahindra Scorpio will be based on the updated ladder frame chassis and come with more powerful powertrains. A 2.0L mStallion petrol engine and 2.2L mHawk diesel engine will come mated with manual and automatic gearbox options. Moreover, the top variant is likely to get AWD (all-wheel drive).
Mahindra has contemporarily loaded the new Mahindra Scorpio upmarket features to match the current competitive bars. The new Mahindra Scorpio is expected to get a 360-degree camera, a digital-analog instrument cluster, a Head-Up Display (HUD), and ADAS technology. The test mule of the new Mahindra Scorpio cues many cosmetic revisions of the SUV.
Mahindra XUV300 Facelift
The facelift of Mahindra’s compact SUV, Mahindra XUV300 will hit the Indian market in 2023. The most prominent update will be a more powerful 1.2L mStallion T-GDI petrol engine which churns out 130 BHP of power and 230 Nm of peak torque. However, the lower variants are expected to retain the currently offered 1.2L, 3-cylinder mFalcon MPFI petrol engine. In terms of interiors, the new Mahindra XUV300 is expected to get an updated touchscreen infotainment system, while the appearance will see many similarities with the new Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV700.
Mahindra XUV300 EV
Mahindra has been testing the XUV300 EV on Indian roads and the electric SUV is expected to be launched by the third or fourth quarter of FY 2022-23. Furthermore, the XUV300 EV is expected to be offered in two battery sizes with driving ranges of 200 km and 375 km respectively. The XUV300 EV will rival the Tata Nexon EV which is also expected to receive an update with a bigger battery pack and extended driving range. Mahindra will keep the Mahindra XUV300 EV distinguishable from its ICE variant via adding blue accents in its appearance as shown in its concept.
