Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is India’s top Auto Expo event. It brings together leading brands in the automotive sector and shows what they have to offer the Indian market. The theme for 2025 is “Beyond Boundaries: Co-creating the Future Automotive Value Chain.”
Amongst the many brands present there, Mahindra will be a major one. While Mahindra isn’t really known for making a lot of appearances at motor shows, this time it will be different. Mahindra has a host of SUVs in its current lineup and isits bringing out several new models during this Auto Expo. While the focus largely remains onremains on on the BE 6 and XEV 9e, there will be several more concept cars that will be shown. It will be exciting to see what’s in store for us from the brand!
Mahindra Thar EV
The Thar is a super popular car in India thanks to its sharp and rugged looks, and itsit’s monopoly in the lifestyle car segment. It’s priced right and is a great option for those that want a high ground clearance car. Right now the Thar is only offered in petrol / diesel versions, however that’s set to change soon.
Mahindra is expected to show the Thar EV in potentially a concept form. The Thar EV was shown in 2023 at Mahindra’s FutureScape in South Africa. Thar.e is a five-door EV concept that givesgave us a first glimpse of what the Thar will look like in an electric form. It will be based on Mahindra’s INGLO electric skateboard platform (which, by the way, the electric versions of the Bolero and Scorpio will also use)
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
The XUV 3×0 EV will be a smaller version of the XUV400 EV, featuring a 200mm shorter rear overhang for a sleeker profile. While it will keep much of the XUV 3XO’s design language, the electric version will have some exterior changes which are unknown as of now. It will likely get a 35kWh battery, which is slightly smaller than the XUV400’s 40kWh unit. Expected to launch in mid-2025, it mis anticipated to be priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh.
Mahindra BE 6
Mahindra has already announced that the starting price for the BE 6 will be at Rs 18.90 lakh, with the full price range expected to be revealed later this month. The BE6 is expected to launch at the Auto Expo 2025, with deliveries slated to begin towards the end of February. It will get a 79kWh battery that offers a remarkable 682km ARAI range. With 281hp and 380Nm of torque, the BE 6 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds.
Mahindra XEV 9e
The larger SUV coupe, the XEV 9e, shares its platform, battery, and engines with the BE 6e but is a bit slower and less efficient on one charge. With a 0-100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds, the XEV 9e gives you two battery choices: a 59kWh with a range of 542km and a 79kWh with a range of 656km. The full price list will come out at the Auto Expo 2025 pretty soon, with deliveries starting at the end of February like the BE 6. The XEV 9e starts at Rs 21.90 lakh and will go up to Rs 30 lakh, competing with the BYD Atto 3 in terms of price, features, and size.
Mahindra XEV 7e
The standard SUV version of the XEV 9e, the XEV 7e is expected to make its debut later this year. It’s also called the all-electric version of the XUV700, which was also teased as a concept back in 2022 but will retain much of its original design, minus the radical appearance of the XEV 9e. The 7e is expected to share most of its features, safety tech, battery options, and powertrain with the 9e, offering similar range and performance. This all-electric three-row SUV is set to compete with the Tata Harrier EV and will likely be priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.
