The largest electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD showcased some of its best offerings at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The popular Chinese carmaker already has a few capable offerings on sale in India and is looking to make their line-up even more dominant as EV space is rapidly expanding. Let’s take a closer look at all the BYD cars showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

BYD Sealion 6

BYD Sealion 6

The BYD Selion 6 was one of the strongest attractions at the Auto Expo 2025. The Chinese plug-in hybrid SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an 18.3kWh battery. With this combination, the BYD Sealion 6 can drive up to 1,092km on a full charge and a single top-up of the 60-litre fuel tank. Overseas, the BYD Sealion is available in two variants: Dynamic and Premium. The lower Dynamic variant has a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine that functions in combination with a 197 PS-producing front-axle motor, and together they produce 218 PS power and 300 Nm peak torque. Whereas the higher Premium variant has a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine that works in combination with a 163 PS-producing rear-axle motor in addition to the front-axle motor, and together they produce 324 PS and 550 Nm peak torque. For the Premium and Dynamic variants, BYD claims a 0-100 km/hr sprint duration of 5.9 seconds and 8.5 seconds, respectively, and an EV-only range of 81 km, and 92 km respectively.

The BYD Sealion 6 is almost as large as the Mahindra XEV 9e. It is 4,775 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,670 mm tall, and has a 2,765 mm wheelbase. As far as design is concerned, the BYD Sealion 6 is Curvy and wears nearly the same front design as the BYD Seal. However, it has a different bumper design and horizontal slats on the grille with chrome treatment. On the inside, the BYD Sealion 6 gets a dual-tone theme, a three-spoke steering wheel, leatherette upholstery, and a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment gracing the dashboard. The other features of the BYD Sealion 6 include a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10-speaker Infinity audio system, a digital key, keyless entry, keyless start, ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and dual wireless phone chargers. For the safety equipment, the BYD Sealion features 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, a Level-2 ADAS safety suite, and more.

BYD Sealion 7

BYD Sealion 7

The Chinese automaker debuted its flagship SUV, BYD Sealion 7, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The bookings for the electric SUV have been opened and its deliveries are slated to start from March 7. Sharing most of the design with the BYD Seal sedan, the BYD Sealion 7 features similar headlamps and connected tail-lamp setups, but with more aggressive front and rear bumpers, thanks to some sharp edges. Its side profile highlights, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, flush-type door handles, black cladding running along the length of the car, and the sloping roofline, which makes it a coupe SUV.

On the inside, the BYD Sealion 7 sports a layered dashboard with dual-tone gloss black and silver panels running across the length. There is a rotatable 15.6-inch touchscreen and 4-spoke steering wheels with a heated grip and media controls. In terms of features, the BYD Sealion 7 packs a floating instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, a panoramic glass roof with a sunshade, a 50W wireless phone charger, a heads-up-display, connected car tech, powered tailgate, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging, where you can power external devices with your car’s battery pack. The BYD Sealion 7 is available in two variants: Premium and Performance. Both are powered by an 82.5kWh LFP Blade battery pack. The Premium variant produces 313 PS and 380 Nm and comes with a rear-wheel-drive configuration. Whereas, the Performance variant has an all-wheel drive set-up, which produces 530 PS and 690 Nm. For Premium and Performance variants, BYD claims a 0 to 100 km/hr sprint time of 6.7 seconds and 4.5 seconds respectively. Meanwhile, the claimed ranges of the Premium and Performance variants are 567 km and 542 km respectively. Once launched, the BYD Sealion 7 is expected to be slotted above the BYD Seal sedan and priced north of Rs 60 lakh.

BYD Yangwang U8

BYD Yangwang U8

BYD’s luxury brand, Yangwang, showcased its flagship SUV, Yangwang U8, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The giant plug-in hybrid 5-seater SUV weighs around 3,500kg and yet, it can dash from 0 to 100 km/hr in 3.6 seconds. It is powered by a 49.1 kWh connected to four motors and a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine powering a generator. This arrangement generates 1,200 PS power and 1,280 Nm and offers a combined range of 1,000 km, while the EV-only range stands at 180 km. Coming to the dimensions, the Yangwang U8 is 5,319 mm long, 2,050 mm wide and 1,930 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. For reference, the U8 is longer than the Land Rover Range Rover or a Mercedes-Benz GLS. The boxy silhouette of the Yangwang bears a close resemblance to the overall shape of the Land Rover Defender. However, it features a pixel-type effect covering the grille and blending in with the headlamp cluster. The dual-tone slabbed side profile highlights the blacked-out upper section and gloss-black finish for the squared-out wheel arches. At the back, the tail lamps have the same pixilated pattern as the grille and a large rear-mounted spare wheel. On the inside, the U8 gets a brown theme and has a 5-seater configuration. On the feature front, a key highlight is the triple screen setup for front passengers and infotainment screens for the rear passengers as well. Moreover, it packs powered ventilated and massaging front seats, a 50W wireless charging pad, a moonroof, a 22-speaker setup, electrically deployable side steps, and more. The Yangwang U8 can also perform a 360-degree tank turn with its differential steering, which we have seen in the Mercedes G-Class electric. For the safety equipment, the U8 comes with a Level 2 ADAS suite, working in harmony with 38 sensors, three LiDAR sensors, 13 cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars. BYD has not confirmed the U8’s launch in India, but it does get launched, it will rival the Land Rover Range Rover, BMW X7, and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
