The Bavarian automaker, BMW has launched the facelifted BMW M340i xDrive in India. Priced at ₹69.20 lakh, this car carries the crown of the fastest performance sedan in the Indian car market. While deliveries will begin in January, the M340i xDrive can be reserved online at BMW dealerships. Let’s delve into this classy, new German sedan’s details.

To put it in simple words, the M340i is a 3 series under the M badge. However, there are a few cosmetic differences that one can notice if looked carefully. The revamped front fascia includes revamped LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs and a sharper kidney grill if we talk about the front. Coming to the side profile, a new set of 19-inch alloys stand out, along with a spoiler on the rear. In all, it retains the overall sporty silhouette and remains true to its character.

On the technology front, the BMW M340i now features a freestanding, curving instrument panel with a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, both of which run BMW’s eighth-generation iDrive interface. The infotainment system is paired with a Harman Kardon audio setup.

The BMW M340i is powered by the same 3.0-liter, inline-six turbocharged petrol engine. The facelift adds a mild hybrid setup, with a 48V battery providing electric power. The combined output for both is a whopping 379ps and 500 Nm, enabling the vehicle to reach 100 kmph from standstill in a mere 4.4 seconds. This powertrain powers all 4 wheels (xDrive AWD system), and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on board as well. 

Drive modes are also on offer, along with other mechanical changes like an M Sport exhaust system, rear differential, brakes, and suspension amongst others.
