- Tata Nexon takes top spot; sells 12,259 units
- Hyundai Venue, Creta sale drops 9% and 23% respectively
- Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza at 4th place; sales slip 20 percent YoY
1. Tata Nexon:
Tata Nexon’s dream run among Indian car buyers continued unchallenged for yet another month, with the sub-4 meter compact SUV selling 12,259 units in February, up 55 percent from the 7,529 units sold in the same period last year.
Hyundai Venue saw total sales of 10,212 units in February this year, down 9 percent from 11,224 units sold in February 2021. The vehicle also sold 1165 fewer units of the Venue versus last month’s sales of 11,377 units.
3. Tata Punch
The Tata Punch sold 9,592 units in February this year, down from the 10,027 units sold in the previous month. The Tata Punch was introduced to the Indian market in October last year.
4. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
The sales numbers for the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in February 2022 fell to 9,256 units, down 20 percent from 11,585 units in February last year.
Maruti sold 9,576 units of the Brezza in January 2022, versus 10,623 units in January 2021.
5. Kia Seltos
The Kia Seltos – alongwith the Sonet – continued to do the heavy-lifting for the Korean manufacturer, selling 6,575 units in the month of February. The numbers were, however, down 21 percent from 8,305 units sold in the same period last year.
6. Kia Sonet
At 6,154 units sold, the Kia Sonet came in 6th in the compact SUV best-sellers list for February, down 23 percent from last year’s figure of 7,997 units. There was month-on-month improvement though; 6,904 units of the Kia Sonet were sold in January 2022.
7. Mahindra XUV 300
Mahindra XUV 300, another favorite in the compact SUV segment, sold 4,511 units in February, up 42 percent from 3,174 units sold last year in the same period.
4,550 units of the XUV300 were sold in January 2022; the numbers were down 1 percent compared to January 2021 which saw sales of 4,612 XUV300s.
