The newly unveiled Ford GT with its 600 BHP power output from its twin-turbo 3.5L V6 Eco-Boost engine is set to go even faster. At the recently concluded 24-Hours Le Mans, Ford Motors announced and revealed its new entrant for next year’s Le Mans endurance race. The Ford GT race car will compete in the highly competitive GTE Pro Class, going head-to-head against the Aston Martins, Ferraris, Porsches and this year’s class-winning Corvettes.
The Ford GT race car’s 2016 entry in the legendary Le Mans competition will mark 50 years since the original Ford GT40 ended the dominance of the Ferraris with 1-2-3 finish and established their own winning streak of four consecutive titles from 1966-1969. Ford, and many of the GT’s fans, will be looking forward to the new racer to re-establish the dominance of the past.
