Ioniq 5 Design
Boxy yet futuristic is the best way to describe the Ioniq 5’s design. The hatchback dons a retro attire with sharp and sleek lines. Some highlights include headlights and tail lights with pixel LEDs, flush door handles, a raked windscreen, and active aero 20-inch alloy wheels. There are 3 colour options on offer for India: Gravity Gold Matte, Optic White and Midnight Black Pearl.

Ioniq 5 Specifications
For India, the Ioniq 5 gets a sole 72.6kWh battery pack that is good enough for 217PS and 350Nm of peak power and torque output. These figures are sent to the rear wheels and the hatchback also comes with a claimed range of 631km (ARAI) making it a long-range EV. In terms of performance, it can complete the 0-100kmph sprint in 7.6 seconds. What’s interesting however is the fast charging capabilities where Hyundai claims it can juice up from 10- 80% in just 18 minutes using a 350KW DC fast charger. The hatchback is sold with other battery pack options in markets abroad.
Ioniq 5 Key Features
Some standout features include a dual 12.3-inch display, a panoramic glass roof, ventilated and heated front seats, Bose surround sound system, a powered tailgate, vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, ambient lighting, level 2 ADAS, 571-litre boot, Hyundai Bluelink connected car tech, six airbags and many more.

The all-electric hatchback cabin also features a similar design theme as the exterior with some old-school bits and a dark-grey colour scheme. The interior is also special as it uses a mix of sustainable materials such as eco-friendly leather and upholstery. The hatchback also makes use of bio paint for surfaces inside the cabin.
Ioniq 5 Price And Rivals
Key rivals of the Ioniq 5 include Kia EV6 and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. The Ioniq 5 undercuts both these cars when it comes to price tag as it can be yours for Rs 44.95 (ex-showroom). This also means that it is Rs 16 lakhs more affordable than its cousin, the Kia EV6.

What helped Hyundai achieve this is the fact that the Ioniq 5 is locally assembled in India. Hyundai has started accepting bookings for the Ioniq 5 for Rs 1 lakh in dealerships across the country. The current pricing is also introductory and applicable to the first 500 cars.
