The much anticipated 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno was launched today at a price tag that starts from Rs. 6.35 lakh and goes up to Rs. 9.49 lakh ex-showroom. The Baleno will have the 1.2-litre petrol engine with the CVT transmission being dropped in favor of the affordable 5-speed AMT. Manual transmissions will be available as standard on all variants.
The exterior of the Baleno has been revamped; the curves have been done away with, and the car now has a more angular look and a wider stance. On the front the Baleno features a new grille, new headlights, while the rear also gets a new set of tail lights.
The new Baleno will come in six color options – Celestial Blue, Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey, Luxe Beige, Pearl Arctic White and Splendid Silver. The feature list on the latest Baleno includes: Heads up display, cruise control, auto dimming IRVM, auto folding ORVMs, 9-inch, infotainment display, Suzuki Connect and Alexa Connect among others.
The new Baleno also comes updated with new safety features such as improved body strength along with ABS, EBD, ESP, hill hold assist reverse parking camera, reverse parking sensors, side and curtain airbags.
The Baleno’s powertrain will produce 88.5 BHP of power and 113 Nm of torque, while claimed mileage figures for Baleno AMT and manual transmission stand at 22.94 kmpl and 22.35 kmpl respectively.
The facelifted Baleno will compete against Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
