Step-by-Step Guide on How to Apply for Transfer Of Vehicle Ownership in Bangalore

Once you bring home the used car that you purchased, you will have to initiate the RC transfer process at the local RTO within 30 days. Here are the steps you need to follow:

Step 1 – Procure The No Objection Certificate (NOC) From The Traffic Department: (Required only if seller and buyer resides in different RTO area)

If the used car that you have bought is not registered in the RTO area of your residence, then you’ll first have to get the car de-registered from the RTO where the car is registered. To do this, you will have to submit a duly filled Form 28 to the RTO where the car is registered. And in return, they will provide you with a no-objection certificate: NOC.

And if the car is registered in any other state than Karnataka, you will have to de-register the car from the RTO where it’s registered and obtain a NOC. For this purpose, you will have to submit the following set of documents along with a duly filled Form 29.
