The much anticipated 7-Seater MUV, Kia Carens has made its global debut in India. Kia’s fourth product in India, Carens, is slated to launch in the first half of the next year. While the 7-Seater SUV segment has seen some stellar entries this year such as Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens is showing excellent potential for an interesting rivalry.

Kia Carens Exteriors
Sharing its platform with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, Kia Carens looks much like Kia EV6 and is offering a class-leading wheelbase of 2780 mm. While Kia has not specified a body type for the Carens, it can best be described as a beautiful blend of SUV-looks and MUV-practicality.
The face of the Carens sports a flat bonnet and an upright nose that divides into two parts. The upper part of the front bumper features a slim grille and slim split headlamps flanked on either side of a contrasting black trim. The Y-shaped LED DRLs are positioned above the headlamp set up. Instead of being on the grille, Kia’s signature ‘Tiger nose’ styling element is subtly placed with low-set chrome trim. With a body cladding over the wheel arches and along the length of the doors, a unique yet bold character line that begins from the headlamps blends in the doors and then re-emerges at the rear to integrate into tail lamps.
At the rear, the Carens sports sleek wraparound LED tail lamps that are linked by a slim LED strip. The rear windshield is slightly raked and features an integrated spoiler. Like the front end, the tailgate is upright, and the aggressively styled bumper sports silver inserts, and the chrome-garnished bottom is an elegant embellishment.
Kia Carens Interiors
Kia Carens will be available in both 6 & 7-Seater variants in which captain seats will be offered in the 6-Seater ones. Following Kia’s tradition, the Carens is amazingly feature-packed. The dashboard is deep-positioned and extends towards the windshield and flows to the front doors creating a wrap-around effect which is usually seen in MUVs.
A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen takes centre stage with the AC vents integrated below. For automatic climate control, Carens features a new touchscreen panel with toggle switches. It also gets roof-mounted AC vents to enhance the rear- cooling, however, it takes away the possibility of a panoramic sunroof and powered Sunroof is provided instead.
