Mahindra has launched the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus at a starting price of Rs 11.39 lakh (ex-showroom). While this 9-seater Indian SUV was first made available in mid-2023 as an ambulance, it has now been launched as a mainstream 9-seater SUV with the same seating layout as that of the 9-seater Mahindra Scorpio Classic. Essentially, the Bolero Neo Plus is a facelifted version of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus which was discontinued a few years ago. Here is what Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus is all about.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus: Design
Despite being the stretched version of the 7-seater Bolero Neo, the Bolero Neo Plus does not differ much dimensionally from the Bolero Neo. While the Bolero Neo Plus is longer at 4,400 mm in length, it has the same width of 1,795 mm and the same wheelbase of 2,680 mm as the Bolero Neo. Even in terms of design, the Bolero Neo Plus is almost identical to the Bolero Neo. The front highlights the familiar chrome slats integrated into the honeycomb grille and Mahindra’s new ‘twin peaks’ logo. The same honeycomb pattern follows lower down as well for the air dam flanked by the fog lamps. At the rear, the Bolero Neo Plus is slightly curvy as compared to the Bolero Neo.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus: Interior & Features
On the inside, there are distinctions from the Bolero Neo’s interior. The Bolero Neo Plus features the Mahindra Thar’s steering wheel and a new instrument cluster with twin-pod displays. Moreover, with an updated infotainment system and climate controls, Bolero Neo Plus comes with fresh fabric upholstery.
As mentioned, the seating layout of the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus is the same as that of the 9-seater Mahindra Scorpio. This 2-3-4 layout consists of two front seats, one three-seater bench seat in the middle, and jump seats for four passengers at the back.
In terms of features, the Bolero Neo Plus sports a 9-inch touchscreen unit with Bluetooth, Aux, and USB connectivity, a 6-speaker music system, all four power windows, follow-me headlamps, manual AC, and a height-adjustable driver seat.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus: Engine & Transmission
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus is equipped with a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine which produces 120 PS power and 280 Nm torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and powers the rear wheels.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus: Price & Rivals
Mahindra is offering the Bolero Neo Plus in two variants. The base variant named P4 costs Rs 11.39 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top variant named P10 is available at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom). With such prices, the Bolero Neo Plus is the most affordable 9-seater SUV in India and can rival 9-seater variants of the Mahindra Scorpio Classic.
