After debuting the Maruti Brezza CNG at Auto Expo 2023, Maruti has officially launched it at a starting price of Rs 9.14 lakh. The Maruti Brezza CNG is the first and only CNG-powered compact SUV in India, however, the situation will not remain the same for long as the Tata Nexon CNG is also in the offing. With the addition of the Maruti Brezza CNG, Maruti now has 13 CNG-powered cars in its portfolio and this will also help Brezza in catering to a wider consumer range. Here is everything you need to know about the Maruti Brezza CNG.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG: Design, Interiors, & Features
As far as looks are concerned, there is no difference from the standard Maruti Brezza, making the CNG-powered Brezza look exactly the same. However, a large part of the boot space has been occupied by the CNG tank. Like its petrol-powered counterpart, the interiors of the Maruti Brezza CNG sport an all-black colour scheme. Feature-wise the CNG variants get the same equipment as the standard Brezza and since Maruti is offering Brezza CNG in LXi, VXi, and ZXi variants, the top ZXi variant sports features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, push start/stop, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, rear camera, cruise control, and more. Interestingly, the Maruti Brezza CNG is the only CNG car to offer a sunroof.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG: Engine and Transmission
The CNG variants of the Maruti Brezza come with the same 1.5-litre K15C DualJet petrol engine which also powers the standard Maruti Brezza, Maruti Ertiga, and Maruti XL6. In petrol-only mode, this engine produces 101 PS and 136N torque, however, in CNG mode these figures dip to 88 PS power and 121.5 Nm torque. Maruti claims that the Brezza CNG can deliver a mileage of 25.51 km/kg.
