New Features of the Honda City
The new Honda City arrives with an entirely fresh design and a plethora of premium features. The new Honda City comes with a new BS6 1.5L i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine and a BS6 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine. The petrol engine gives an estimated mileage of 17.8kmpl with the 6-speed MT and 18.4kmpl with the 7-speed CVT and the diesel engine gives an estimated mileage of 24.1kmpl with 6-speed MT.
The brand new Honda City is getting redesigned LED headlights and tail lights, along with a slew of assistive features to make driving more comfortable. The new Honda City will be equipped with a first-in-segment Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Agile Handling Assist (AHA). The VSA uses the brakes on each wheel to maintain stability in sharp turns. The AHA, on the other hand, applies brakes to provide smooth cornering.
Some of the other features in the new Honda City include hill start assist, traction control, six airbags, and low tyre pressure warning system. The new sedan continues the City’s tradition of being a safe car and has bagged a Five-star rating and 86.54 points in the ASEAN NCAP crash test.
Worth the Upgrade
Honda has some interesting plans for the Honda City, with the last-gen model being offered alongside the new-gen Honda City. For those who have been looking to buy a new premium sedan in India, the Honda City is a definite consideration. The new-gen model will feature new, more powerful engines with new interiors and assistive features.
With the expected price of the fifth-gen Honda City starting from at least Rs. 10 lakhs, it enters a crowded space with the newly launched Hyundai Verna and the established Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The coming months for new sedans in India is shaping up to be exciting with new launches lined up for the year.
