The Indo-Japanese carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the second-generation model of Celerio prior to the festive season of 2021. Maruti Suzuki Celerio gained popularity right after being launched in 2014, as it debuted Maruti’s AMT gearbox, and brought in the most affordable automatic transmission option in India. A camouflaged mule of second-generation Celerio has been spotted testing a few days back.
What is the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio?
Manufactured with the steel of advanced tensile strength, Maruti’s Heartect platform will underpin the second-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio, an entry-level hatchback. This platform underpins some other Maruti Suzuki cars as well i.e., S-Presso, Wagon R, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, etc. A longer wheel-base and a wider cabin than the first-generation Celerio will increase the size and comfort on offer. Along with increased size, the car has been tailored to fit Maruti’s latest design language. A slim grille, a slightly convex rear end, swept-back headlights, tear-drop-shaped tail lights, and a more reclined rear windshield will renovate the appearance of the hatch. While the higher variants of the new Celerio will sport freshly-designed alloy wheels, the lower variants will get naked steel wheels. Spy images of the car have revealed an all-new dashboard, a high-set jutted Central console with AC vents on either side, and AC control below.
