- 1.0 litre and 1.5 litre engines to be launched on 28th Feb and 3rd March respectively

Skoda’s latest contender, the Slavia, finally has a launch date and it is February 28 for the 1.0 litre TSI engine option, while the 1.5 litre TSI engine will be launched on March 3.
Zac Hollis, Director, Sales and Marketing at Skoda Auto India, made the announcement. “Despite the industry challenges, I am happy to share that we are delivering on our committed timelines for the launch of both the 1.0 L and 1.5 L Skoda Slavia,” Hollis wrote on Twitter.
The Slavia features a sharp exterior, a creased bonnet, angular headlamps with integrated DRLs along with Skoda’s trademark grille bordered by chrome. C-shaped LED tail lights on the robust rear along with a massive 521- litre boot. The interiors are plush and premium with black and beige upholstery, along with a 10-inch touchscreen and a fully digital coloured instrument cluster, a heads up display among others.
The Slavia will come with two engine options – a 1.0 litre petrol with a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission, and a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol which will feature a six-speed manual transmission along with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The 1.0 litre engine produces 114 bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque, while the 1.5 litre motor churns 148 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque.
The Slavia is sharp, lean, elegant and a premium offering by Skoda, its rivals will be the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus.
