The Skoda Slavia has taken the midsize sedan segment by storm. A segment that has long been dominated by the Honda City, now faces stiff competition from Skoda’s newest sedan. In terms of price, the Slavia has been positioned at a price range of Rs. 10.69 lakh to Rs. 17.79 lakh, with three variants, two turbo petrol engine options, and three transmissions on offer. Skoda will be relying on the value proposition of their new car to help it gain traction and give life to the ailing midsize sedan segment in India.

Built on the MQB A0-IN platform that also underpins the Skoda Kushaq as well as the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, the Slavia shares the crown of being the longest midsize sedan in India. The length helps accommodate the 521 litre boot as well as the feature-rich, spacious interiors. Here are the details you need to choose the right Skoda Slavia variant for yourself.

Skoda Slavia Variants

The Skoda Slavia is offered in three variants of Active, Ambition, and Style. Combined with the two powertrains on offer, there are eight variants available to choose from.

Who is the Slavia Active variant for?

In terms of value, the base variant of the Skoda Slavia is hard to recommend when considering its price and its rivals. At Rs. 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom), the Slavia competes against the 4th generation Honda City, which is cheaper and better equipped. The Skoda Slavia Active variant is best suited for those who want to customize the car to their tastes while still enjoying the 1.0-litre TSI engine.

Skoda Slavia Ambition

Skoda’s true value package is the Ambition variant of the Skoda Slavia. The mid variant of the Slavia has been packed with the essential premium features that deliver on a premium sedan experience. While the Ambition variant is only equipped with the 1.0-litre TSI engine, it is paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
