Tata Motors on Monday launched the Tata Altroz DCA in India at a starting price of Rs 8.1 lakh (ex-showroom). The launch adds the much-awaited automatic variant for the Altroz, and brings Tata’s premium hatchback o par with its rivals.
The vehicle comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, is powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine, and will be available in the four top variants of the Altroz – XM+, XT, XZ, and XZ+. The Altroz DCA will be offered in a new Opera Blue colour, and will be a part of the Dark Editions as well. Other colour options include Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, Avenue White and Harbour Blue.
The Altroz DCA comes with a host of features including wet clutch with active cooling technology that the manufacturer claims is suited for hot conditions as well as stop and go traffic.
With the Altroz DCA, you also get auto park lock, a fully electronic ‘shift by wire’ technology that doesn’t include any shifter cables, and a self-healing mechanism that works together with standard filtration to clear dust out of the transmission.
Other features include:
Leatherette seats
Auto headlamps
7” touchscreen
7” TFT digital cluster
rear AC vents
iRA connected car technology
Bookings for the Altroz DCA had started earlier in the month at a nominal price of 21,000.
Tata Altroz will face competition from Maruti Suzuki Bаlenо, Toyota Glanza AMT and Hyundai i20, which comes at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 8.76 lakh.
