Popular Indian auto-giant Tata has finally launched the Tata Curvv coupe SUV at a starting price of Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Curvv is the second mass-market coupe SUV after the recently launched Citroen Basalt. Based on the Nexon, the Curvv shares most of its characteristics with the smaller SUV including features and powertrains. Here is what the Tata Curvv is all about.
Tata Curvv: Design & Dimensions
Tata Curvv is 4,308 mm long, 1,810 mm wide, 1,630 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm and a boot space of 500 litres. The face of the Tata Curvv looks a lot like the Tata Nexon. It brings the same full-width LED light bar at the front along with the split headlamps set up. However, the Curvv distinguishes itself with metallic embroidery on the grille, and a latticed parametric pattern lower down on the bumper.
Over to the side, the Curvv gets flush door handles, making it the first Tata car to feature this door-handle setup. A rising waistline gives it a slightly hunched-up rear, and there is a sloping roofline which seamlessly merges into the tailgate. Like the front end, there is an LED full-width light bar at the back. With all this, the Curvv gets a chunky black cladding running across the bottom of its body, adding to its macho character.

Tata Curvv: Interior & Features
Similarities with the Nexon carry onto the interior as the Curvv gets the same dashboard with a leatherette finish, trapezoidal AC vents, and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. However, unlike the Nexon, the Curvv gets the dual-tone burgundy-black colour theme and a four-spoke steering wheel, which looks the same as the one on the Tata Harrier.
In terms of features, the Cuvv offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 6-way powered driver seat, 9-speaker JBL sound system, a powered tailgate with gesture control, and more.
For safety equipment, the Curvv features six airbags (as standard), ESC, disc brakes on all four wheels, TPMS, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, Level 2 ADAS features, and more.
Tata Curvv: Engine & Transmission
For engine options, the Curvv carries forward both the Nexon’s engines: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which produces 120 PS and 170 Nm, and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine which produces 118 PS and 260 Nm. Moreover, there is an all-new 1.2-litre TGDI petrol engine named ‘Hyperion’, which produces 125 PS and 225 Nm. All engines are available with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCA, which is essentially a dual-clutch automatic transmission. With these powertrain combinations, the Tata Curvv is the only car in India that offers a DCT automatic with a diesel engine.
