With the dawn of the electric vehicle (EV) market in India, and the constant boost from the Government of India to expand the EV automobile industry, the race to get a better range among EV car makers has become a top priority.

Apart from higher battery capacity, the Tata Nexon will also boast improved safety features and a powerful AC charger. The interiors will remain the same as the current model of the Tata Nexon EV.

Long Range Battery Power
The existing model of the electric SUV has a 30.2 kWh that gives a claimed range of 312 km and a real-life range of 200 to 220 km. The new model of the Tata Nexon EV will house a battery that will have 30% more capacity than the original, and a claimed range of 400 km that would translate into a real-world range of more than 300 km.
A larger battery pack will decrease the boot space considerably and make the new variant a heavier version to its precursor.
Improved Safety Features of Tata Nexon EV
The new model of Tata Nexon EV will have disc brakes on all four wheels for enhanced stopping power and prevent vehicle skidding. The disc brakes are expected to deliver even better performance and reduce brake fade. Tata Nexon EV Long Range will have improved selective regenerative brakes that will help recover energy during braking and increase the range of the EV.
Powerful AC Charger
The old version of the EV model of Tata Nexon had a 3.3 kW AC charger that took almost 10 hours to get fully charged. The new model will have a 6.6 kW AC charger that will come as an optional feature.
Price of new Tata Nexon EV Long Range
The earlier Tata Nexon EV will be sold along with its new counterpart. The cost of Tata Nexon EV Long Range will be higher by 3-4 lakhs than the older EV model and priced around Rs 17-18 lakh.
Tata Motors Nexon EV Long Range will likely give tough competition to Hyundai’s Kona EV and MG ZS EV, thanks to its competitive pricing and greater range.
