Tata Nexon Facelift Launched at Rs. 8.10 Lakh

Tata Motors has finally taken the wraps off the all-new Tata Nexon facelift. With prices starting at Rs. 8.10 lakh ex-showroom, the new Nexon brings significant updates that will help it compete against its rivals in the festive season. As reported earlier, the Nexon facelift features a new exterior design that is reminiscent of the Harrier EV and Tata Curvv concepts, along with some exciting new features. Here are all the details about the Nexon facelift.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Exteriors and Design

With the Nexon making an official appearance, the entire design of the SUV can now be fully appreciated. Talking about the looks, the all-new Nexon now comes with a thick upper grille housing the Tata logo along with a split-headlamp design. a portion of which is encased in a trapezoidal housing. The Nexon also brings in band-like sequential LED DRL that is placed on either side of the Tata logo. The bumpers have also been reshaped to give the SUV a more bulky and taller look.

In terms of overall profile, no major change has been incorporated other than the petal-shaped alloy wheels, and an accent line that runs across the sides. Coming to the rear, the new Nexon gets a connected LED setup with the Tata Logo placed in the middle. The reverse light has also changed places and is now incorporated on the bumper itself. Other than that there are pushed-out C-shaped cutouts matching the front theme, along with a faux skid plate to give the rear a sportier feel. 

Tata Nexon Facelift: Features and Interiors

Step inside the Nexon, and you will find a close resemblance to the Curvv concept. Talking about the changes, there is a new, rectangular floating 10.25-inch touch infotainment set-up that is placed right in the centre of the dashboard. Another noticeable change is the new two-spoke steering that looks modern and sporty, complemented by a fully digital 10.25-inch MID cluster that can be configured to display navigation as well. The dashboard also incorporates leather inserts and carbon-fibre-styled finishes with touch-based HVAC controls.

With regard to the features, the top-end Nexon is all set to offer exciting features like connected car tech, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, air purifier, wireless charging and much more. Safety onboard will be taken care of by standard safety features like six airbags, ABS with ABD and ESC, three-point seat belts, ISOFIX and much more.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Engine, Transmission and Variants

As far as the engine goes, the Nexon facelift will continue to offer the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that will now be offered with a choice of as many as four transmission options including a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT automatic and a 7-speed DCT automatic with paddle shifters. Other than that, the compact SUV will also carry forward the 1.5-litre diesel engine with the same 6-speed manual/AMT as before.

The variant spread however will see a big change, with Tata bidding adieu to its “X” nomenclature (XE, XM, XM+ etc.) to adopt the Punch-inspired naming that includes trim names like Smart, Smart+, Smart+(S), Pure+, Pure+(S), Creative, Creative+, Creative+(S), Fearless, Fearless(S) and Fearless+(S) trims, with sunroof models denoted by (S) and optional packages denoted by a + sign.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Price and Rivals

Competition is fierce in the compact SUV space and price is a very important factor in determining success. Tata has priced the new Nexon starting from Rs. 8.10 lakh, going up to Rs. 13 lakh. These prices cover a wide range of competitors, but the Nexon will be primarily going up against the recently Hyundai Venue and Maruti Brezza, as well as the Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV300, which are themselves rumoured to be getting updates soon.
