Toyota Rumion: Price & Variants
Another offering of the Toyota-Maruti rebadging alliance, the Toyota Rumion is fundamentally a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga with minor cosmetic changes. Much like the Ertiga, the Rumion will also be offered with CNG trims. The Rumion will be offered in three trims; the S, G and V, and will have an automatic transmission onboard all trims except the G variants. CNG will be limited only to the S trim, while the others will offer the Maruti-based 1.5-litre engine. Here are all the details about the Rumion’s variants and prices.
Toyota Rumion Variants & Price | |
Variant | Price (Ex-Showroom) |
Rumion S | Rs. 10.29 Lakh |
Rumion S CNG | Rs. 11.24 Lakh |
Rumion S AT | Rs. 11.89 Lakh |
Rumion G | Rs. 11.45 Lakh |
Rumion V | Rs. 12.18 Lakh |
Rumion V AT | Rs. 13.68 Lakh |
When pitched against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Rumion offers one lesser variant level that reflects through its starting price, which is Rs. 1.65 Lakh more expensive than the Ertiga’s LXi trim. Even otherwise, the Rumion is priced at about Rs 50,000 to 60,000 thousand higher than the Ertiga which is sold for a price ranging between Rs. 8.64 to 13.08 Lakh. Being a Toyota product, the Rumion will be offered with a standard warranty pack of 3 years/1,00,000 lakh kilometres which can also be extended to 5 year/2,20,000 km.
Toyota Rumion: Exteriors, Features and Cabin
In terms of looks, Toyota’s latest MUV is almost identical to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, for obvious reasons. There are, however, some minor differences that are incorporated in the shape of a new trapezoidal fog-lamp design and an Innova Crysta-inspired grille.
Moving on inside, the same cabin layout is carried over from the Ertiga, with the dual-tone beige and black finish with wooden inserts on the dashboard and doors. The Beige upholstery also makes its way inside the Rumion, and so does the entire feel of the Ertiga’s classy yet comfortable interiors. In terms of features, the top-range variant offers features like connected car tech, automatic climate control, digital MID, 7-inch touch infotainment system, four airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC and much more. Available in a 7-seater layout, the Rumion scores well as a rebadged MUV.
Toyota Rumion: Under The Hood
Powering the Toyota Rumion is Maruti’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual or an optional 6-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission, producing 103 PS of power with 137 Nm of torque. For CNG trims the power output is reduced to 88 PS with 121.5 NM of torque mated to a sole 5-speed manual. Mileage-wise, the Rumion does well with an efficiency of 20.51 km/l on petrol and 26.11 km/kg on CNG.
Toyota Rumion: Rivals
The Toyota Rumion will lock horns with the Maruti Ertiga, which is itself a dominant player in the segment. In addition to this, the more premium feeling Kia Carens and Maruti XL6 are the other three-row MUVs that will directly compete with the Rumion.
