After hitting a short period of stagnation, Volkswagen India is finally rejuvenating its offerings in India. At the Auto Expo 2020, the German manufacturer announced four SUVs that they would be bringing to India. Volkswagen has already brought the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace 7-seater SUV and the Volkswagen T-ROC compact SUV.
Volkswagen India is now gearing up to officially launch the Volkswagen Taigun in India with the listing for the SUV going up on its official Indian website. While few specifications are known, the Volkswagen Taigun could be launched at the start of 2021.
Director of Volkswagen passenger cars India, Steffen Knap has stated the VW Taigun will be over 90% localized making it accessible for the Indian car buyers. The VW Taigun will be entering a hotly contested segment with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Jeep Compass sure to give this new entrant tough competition.
