The X1 is the most affordable BMW in the Indian market, and this is also why it sells the most. According to BMW, it is a Sports Activity Vehicle, but simply put, it is an SUV (or an entry level SUV) from the German carmaker. With no major upgrade in the last two years for the Indian market, it still remains a very able and worthy contender to be the best. It is certainly the most affordable, luxury SUV available in the Indian market. With rivals like the Volvo XC40 and Audi Q3 receiving recent updates, is the BMW X1 a worthy entry-level luxury SUV to consider?

"Honestly, I don’t know why I am cutting half a point here. Maybe because it does not look as cool as a Volvo XC40. But except for that, this is the best car I have ever driven. The drive quality of a BMW is impeccable."
"I have a diesel X1 and it is fantastic. However, at times I find the eight-speed AT a bit boring. Now I wish I had opted for the seven-speed DCT. Should have been more fun. But otherwise, absolutely no complaints about the way the car handles."
"It is a good car. Just that it looks like a car that was made in 2016. The engine is smooth, and the drive quality is satisfactory, but the diesel engine with its automatic transmission feels sluggish at times and makes you want more. The interiors are just basic for a car that costs over 40 lakhs. "
"I bought a diesel X1 in September 2020 and have driven over 80,000 kms on it. This car superseded my expectations in every way possible. Drives like nothing I have ever driven before."
"I bought a petrol X1 a few months ago, and just after buying I realised there is a facelift coming some time in 2023. Apart from looking like a slightly old model of the X1, the car is perfect in every way. Just wish it looked as good as others in the segment."
The BMW X1 is offered in 2 variants: sDrive18i xLine and sDrive18d M Sport.
The ARAI claimed mileage of the BMW X1 is 20.37 kmpl for diesel and 16.35 kmpl for petrol, the real-world mileage of the BMW X1 is up to 18.5 kmpl for diesel and up to 14.5 kmpl for diesel.
The BMW X1 is offered in six monotone colours: Alpine White (Non-Metallic), Black Sapphire (Metallic), Phytonic Blue (Metallic), M Portimao Blue (Metallic), Storm Bay (Metallic) and Space Silver (Metallic).
